‘Teen Wolf’ Revival Movie Set at Paramount Plus

A Teen Wolf movie is set to release in 2022 on Paramount+. Tyler Posey is set to return and there is talks about more of the original cast to return. We hope to see Dylan return as Stiles Stilinski!

VARIETY – A movie revival of the “Teen Wolf” MTV series is in the works at Paramount Plus as part of a new overall deal series creator Jeff Davis has signed with MTV Entertainment Studios, Variety has learned exclusively.

Davis’ multi-year deal will see him write and executive produce the film, with talks currently underway with original series cast members to return. The news comes on the four year anniversary of the original “Teen Wolf” finale on MTV.

In the “Teen Wolf” movie, a terrifying evil has emerged in the town of Beacon Hills. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.

Tyler Posey starred as McCall in the original series, with the cast also including Dylan O’Brien, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, and Arden Cho. It was loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox feature comedy of the same name. The show aired on MTV from 2011-2017 for six seasons and 100 episodes. In December, the full series will be available to stream on Paramount Plus.

MTV Announces ‘Teen Wolf’ Virtual Reunion Special

VARIETY – Get ready to revisit Beacon Hills High School, or at least one very important graduating class: “Teen Wolf” will be delivering a virtual reunion special on June 5, MTV announced Thursday.

This special celebration is in honor of the supernatural teen drama’s ninth anniversary, but it is also only the first in a new digital format entitled “MTV Reunions,” which is designed to bring together cast members from television’s most memorable shows, all with a charitable angle. The “Teen Wolf” reunion will spotlight and benefit First Responders First, which aids frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Creator Jeff Davis and cast members Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, Ian Bohen, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Arden Cho, Cody Christian, Shelley Hennig, Dylan O’Brien, Melissa Ponzio, Tyler Posey, Holland Roden and Dylan Sprayberry will all take part in this virtual reunion, which will be hosted by MTV News’ Josh Horowitz.

During the special, they will reminisce about the show and discuss their lives now, joining a growing list of fan-favorite series to come back together for a good cause during this pandemic. Others who recently reunited virtually include the cast and creator of “Community,” who participated in a table read in addition to a Q&A; some of the cast of “Friday Night Lights,” who watched the pilot together; and the cast of “Melrose Place,” who relived highlights of the Aaron Spelling primetime soap opera’s seven-season run.

MTV Reunions: Teen Wolf” will be free to watch on MTV’s YouTube channel at noon on June 5, but it will also stream across MTV News, MTV brand, MTV Vault and the “Teen Wolf” social accounts.

Teen Wolf” ran for six seasons from 2011 to 2017. The series started when once-average high school student Scott McCall (Posey) got bit by a werewolf and had to learn how to keep his deadly new secret while still juggling high school life. His town of Beacon Hills was revealed to be more of a hotbed for supernatural activity than it appeared at first glance, with characters including werewolf hunters, a banshee and a kitsune.

This “MTV Reunions” piece of programming coincides with the network’s launch of the #AloneTogether initiative, which is a global talent and social media-driven campaign designed to educate the younger demographic about the importance of social distancing.

Teen Wolf: Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin return in series finale photos

EW – It won’t be long now until Teen Wolf says its final farewell. And even though we know it will be an extended series finale, showrunner Jeff Davis says, “There were so many characters to wrap up. It was incredibly difficult [to write].”

It might not have been an easy process, but Davis is hopeful the ending will feel right. One thing he can promise? “It’s definitely not a cut-to-black [ending] like The Sopranos,” he says. “We tried to craft an ending that feels right for the audience and for the characters.”

More than anything, fans are anticipating the return of a number of characters, including Stiles, Derek, Kate, Jackson, and Ethan (who are now a couple, by the way). “It’s got all the characters back,” Davis says, adding, “Except for the ones who are unfortunately dead.”

Below, check out some exclusive photos from the series finale, including a few of those familiar faces.
